The Ravindra Bhavan at Bhagalpur

Rabindra Bhawan is one of the major tourist attractions and the prominent landmark of the city. The place is known for its historical importance. Rabindra Bhawan aka Tilha Kothi stands as a major section of the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University. Tilha Kothi, once belonged to the then collector Augustus Cleveland of Bhagalpur. It was in the year 1910, that the famous writer, poet, and activist of India, Shri Rabindranath Tagore visited this place and wrote some of this world-renowned creation here. So, after indolence, the Kothi got its new name as Rabindra Bhawan. Apart from its historic importance, the place is important from the viewpoint of tourism as well. Sitting amidst the lush green surroundings, the Bhawan gives a very pleasant feel to the tourists visiting this place. The place now sees the office of the Archaeological department of TM Bhagalpur University.
