Jewish Cemetery Bhagalpur

There is a Jewish cemetery in Kharmanchak area in Bhagalpur dating back to 1884, there are altogether 13 tombs here, Bhagalpur was inhabited by few Jewish families who resided from Adampur to Kharmanchak area in Bhagalpur. The Jewish traders had established themselves in several Moffusil towns like Munger, Bhagalpur and few other adjoining areas. Mordechai Abraham Cohen from Baghdad and his wife Salha were the first known Jewish family to have settled down here in Bhagalpur.
